5/1 @ Quad Cities
The Hawks play their first double-header this season because of Sunday’s rainout. Oddly enough, it is raining right now in Davenport. We have still not seen the sun since arriving a late Saturday.

Rainy in the Quad Cities
I had hoped to post photos of Perfect Game Field and Modern Woodmen Park but I left my camera cord at the stadium… so that will have to wait until tomorrow. The view at Modern Woodmen Park is terrific as the stadium is right on the banks of the Mississippi. The rain today reminded me of certain instances in the past where the river flooded the areas surrounding Modern Woodmen Park.
Below is a picture from the 2008 floods… At one point a temporary scaffolding bridge was constructed, extending 375 feet from the sandbags in front of the main entrance all the way to River Drive.
We aren’t in danger of flooding at the moment, but even if we were, there’s no guarantee that there wouldn’t be a baseball game!
